1. What did you do in Lab?
- NASA images of change
- Discussed the relationship between weather and climate
- Discussed climate science
- Group work to investigate rain fall in areas of Iowa
- We found that precipitation is increasing in Iowa
- Found that as temperature increases, evaporation increases and precipitation increases
2. What was the big question?
Is our state bird, the Goldfinch, in danger? How do we know?
Yes. Increased heat will have several health related effects on animals.

We had a quiz in Discussion.

- Weather is the short-term atmospheric conditions in an area like, "its raining" or "its sunny today". Weather can change day to day.
- Climate is the usual weather activity that can be expected for an area and time of year. What happens usually.

2. What was most helpful?
The impacts of climate change in Iowa. Climate change is usually thought of as something that affects areas near water, but it can and is happening locally here in Iowa.
3. What do you need more information on?
I hope to become more knowledgeable about the things we can do to combat climate change. Having a strong knowledge of the actions we can take would be beneficial to take into a classroom so we can effectively teach students about the impact they can have.
